New California QAR Contractor

John Payne has joined Douglas Products as the Quality Assurance Review (QAR) specialist serving fumigators throughout California who use Vikane^® gas fumigant. John brings more than 20 years of experience in pest control to the role, having worked with Antimite Termite and Pest Control and ServiceMaster. His background includes having been an inspector for general pest and wood-destroying organisms (WDO), as well as a branch manager overseeing fumigations. He is licensed in California as a Branch 1 field representative and a branches 2 and 3 operator.

As the contract QAR specialist, John is conducting quality control reviews for fumigators throughout California who use Vikane. QARs are conducted on job sites to help fumigator crews ensure they are following label directions and providing in-field training in support of annual Caretakers℠ Program training. Good stewardship practices include things like having the truck properly placarded, having a current label and manual for Vikane on the truck, using clearance devices to properly clear a structure and more. QARs can help fumigation crews confirm correct label requirements for Vikane and learn methods to improve fumigation practices and efficiencies. Copies of completed QARs are provided to the company that have participated and to their business development specialist for Vikane.

In addition, Payne will participate in local meetings about Vikane and work with local business development specialists for Vikane.

QARs are an important part of the product stewardship support provided by Douglas Products to support companies using Vikane.
